Jenifer Lovell-Moreno was a rhythmic gymnast and was a member of the U.S. National Team for seven years. Olympic Games: Rhythmic team member, Barcelona, Spain, (1992). World Championships: Rhythmic team member, Athens, Greece, (1991). Pan American Games: Bronze-Team & Individual Ball Routine [T], Havana, Cuba, (1991). Goodwill Games: Rhythmic Team member, Seattle, WA, USA, (1990). Rhythmic National Championship: Gold, (1991). Olympic Festival Championship: Gold, (1991). According to her biography in the program, Hall of Fame Induction and Awards Ceremony, “Jenifer trained in Miami with . . . coaches Mary Ellen and Maureen Holdrieth during the beginning years of her career, and then moved to Chicago, Ill. when she was 16 to train with Irina Vdovets at Illinois Rhythmics. She had begun the sport of gymnastics in 1983, and, through her career, competed internationally on numerous occasions visiting several countries including Spain, Germany, Ukraine, Greece, Cuba, Portugal, and Japan.” Her USA Gymnastics biography continues indicating, “Jenifer graduated Magna Cum Laude from Lake Forest College with a Bachelor of Arts degree where she majored in Business and Psychology. She was a member of the Entrepreneurs Club and the Omicron Delta Epsilon (Economics Honor Society).” FAMILY: (m) Juan Miguel Moreno, a Taikwondo athlete whom she met at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs in 1991.
